What Is There

Topic: Lifepoems

What is there in this world,
For a girl like me
With a rainbow in her hair?

And what is there in this world
For a boy like you
With thoughts of a different world in his mind?

And what is there in this world
For a couple of losers like us
Trying to break free?

Maybe someday things will change
But not if we dont take a chance
And dive head first into the muck.
So maybe we will change
And maybe the world will not blow up
But we have to get rid of the bomb first.

What is there in this world
That can save me now that I am here
On this ledge watching the world below me.

And what is there in this world
That can save you now that you are
Standing next to me watching the world go by.

Maybe we can keep on living
And maybe we really can save ourselves
But I do not want to dive into the muck.
And maybe you will save me from the bomb
And I can save you too
But first, we have to touch it.

Oh, what can save us now
That was are flying toward the ground
And holding hands.

Oh, what can save us now
That love has failed and
We are ready to die.

Maybe we could have lived
And maybe we could have died
But I really did not want to touch the muck you know.
And maybe we could have saved each other
And let love conquer all, but that bomb would have blown up.

So now, nothing can save us
Because we didnt want to be saved
We wanted to be saviors.

So now, nothing can save us
As we lie here under the ground
Still trying to change the world.

lovely...and just some advice? if you think it's "so cool" then usually- it is. most poets seem to be perfectionists....so if you like your own work - you KNOW it's amazing...and i believe this write is WONDERFUL.
