life's battle

Contributed by marly on Monday, 18th November 2002 @ 06:30:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

The dark is never light
We can only see what we want
Scrutinize every detail with fabricated eyes
And listen to the slander of what people think you are
Realize this serene place is full of tempestuous people
A slave to torment and lies
We live everyday with vengeance
And yet I hold my head high, uneering
The only way I stay strong is by segregating myself from their words
Retaliate by hurting only myself

This torment is only understood by me
I obliterate my tears
Hidden away where no one can know or see

You think I'm weak
I think I'm lost
Around the heedless hearts that surround my soul
Impending the hurt, the frightfull thought of rejection
So I give in
Too futile to fight a battle I cannot win
