A Stake In The Heart

Contributed by Crimson_Rose on Wednesday, 3rd November 2004 @ 07:34:17 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

As the wallowing day blew past me,
The sadness broke out in me, escaping from its cage.
The white clouds flew along the bleak sky.
Something inside me, clawing itself out,
It was my torn heart; it sprang from its dark prison.

A stake in the heart,
It bleeds eternally, dripping sorrow & despair.
My crimson blood stains the stone floor.
My solemn heart wants something or someone.
That one person, the one Ive loved for so long.

In my deep, cerulean eyes, I see him
The one, who sends my heart to heaven,
My heart melting with love for him.
No one truly deserves to be alone
No one deserves to be treated like this
Not You, Not I.

A stake in the heart,
It forms a bloody hole
Out of it, seeps sadness
The stake, it drops to the ground
A loud thud echoes throughout the hall.
A black stake lies in a bed of blood.

My spirit has been broken,
Broke by the despair of loneliness.
What seems to be,
A stake in the heart.

This was enormously sad and beautiful, and moving. I don't know why no one else has commented. Cheers!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
