Lord God,
If this poet needs more heart
Please let that moment start
I will feel the Spirit of Compassion
I will be filled with greater understanding of Your Love
I will know the Way of all the wise teachings
I will know the it is the Lord that I am seeking
Lord Jesus,
Don't want to be the first in line to be judged for my sins
'Cause without You there, Lord Jesus, I couldn't get in
I would be flesh without the Spirit if it were not for You, Lord Jesus, I'm not too proud to admit it
There is a Holy Fire just filling my body and You are the One who lit it
Don't know why I was sitting there
With a stare
Thinkin' I didn't need You
Thinkin' with my own cares
Not with a heart filled with Life
Not with a heart filled with the Holy Spirit
What was it, self,
Did you fear it?
Or maybe you were just thinkin' a while
So that one day you could heave a sigh of relief
But oh, what grief, oh, what grief
If you had never come to truly know Lord Jesus
As your Savior who gave His Life for you upon the Cross
Lord God,
Let me bring honor to Your Kingdom
By obeying Your Word
Let not my sins consume me
But let my Savior, Lord Jesus,
Stand as a consumation of all sin
Let Him be my strength
And let my faith in Lord Jesus
continually grow
Let our relationship blossom
into a kind-hearted friendship
Let me never speak false truths
of Your Holy Kingdom
Let me never speak against
the Holy Spirit
Let me be a living testament
to the world of Your Redeeming Power
And if I'm left sitting in the dark
I will not be left wearing that cunning serpent's mark
Because, Lord God, I never stepped away
From my declaration of faith
In You
And In Your Son thankfully, so thankfully, I am saved
If I were to meet You today, Lord Jesus
How humbled I would be
At the sight of the Wondrous One
I would surely tear up and those tears
Would truly let me see
That although You are
The Son of God
You were also
The Son of Man
And that in that lay Your vulnerability
But You chose much higher principles
You chose to uphold the Principles of God
In You, Lord Jesus, I am able to live as the fruit-bearing seed
