My Heart Cries

Contributed by maryetta on Sunday, 7th November 2004 @ 11:56:34 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

my heart cries for a love that was betrayed
it floundered through all the lies told to it
i tried to believe i tried to stay true to my love
but deep within my heart i knew the betrayal
i put in faith and trust and in the end my heart cries

you would have thought id have learned over the years
but love blinds you sometimes to the truth
it does not perceive the difference of lies or truth
instead it fills your heart with so much pain it wants to believe
i put in faith and trust and in the end my heart cries

always the promises that things will be better they will change
the broken promises that your will change year after year
and i always believed i never wanted to admit to the truth
that i could be that gullible for a man who lied to me
i put in faith and trust and in the end my heart cries

who i was then died with all the lies and promises made
out of the pain and agony was born another one who is alone
one who is stronger and protects the gentle heart from all
alone in life locked away in the safety of my cocoon
i put in faith and trust and in the end my heart cries
