Why am I standing at the alter? Why am I here all alone? Who is the best man talking to, Upon his mobile phone?
Why did she have 5 hen nights? And why were they all last week? Why has her girlfriend started phoning her? When any normal soul would be asleep.
I'm sure that she'll be here in a moment Rob will end his call and pass the rings The vicar seems to look a little anxious He should be used to dealing with these things!
I once thought I would never find my true love I learned that some stay single, to my cost. But I proposed to her when we all went to Blackpool Just after Rob and her had both got lost!
I remember how I made her nervous heart beat, And how she gently took me by the hand. I remember how it all seemed so romantic As the three of us just walked along the sand.
She has always been so very caring Something which I'm very pleased to say. The week that Rob was ill she went to nurse him, She even called me up to say she'd stay.
So now I simply stand here waiting for her Knowing our life together will be great My best man Rob seems to have disappeared now Probably to find out why she's late.
It's really strange how things have come together It is so strange how things have all worked out There was once a time I thought I'd never date her I thought that she had no interest in me.
But when she was alone she'd start to call me And the love we have just blossomed right from there I had been alone for oh so long then It was nice to find somebody who just cared.
I was feeling rather low and rather down then Feeling that there was no point to life But I'm pleased to say my past is all behind me. Thanks to the girl who'll shortly be my wife!

Well, that does make a statement. Sometimes the obvious is not so obvious. I hope things worked out for the best.
Only one crit, alter is to change. Altar is the word for which you were looking. Great poem. Thank you for sharing. |

AArgh!!! Your poem made me angry. I hate her! I hate being decieved. Your poem was really good to have made me this emotional. Excellant write. I married a guy who for three years cheated on me constantly with god knows how many people. BUt so badly did I want to be in love, and when we were together it was bliss. SO I let it all slide. I was to the point where he would just tell me he'd slep with so ans so and I would cry for a little and then say its ok, I understand... Love makes us see what we want to. Love can be wonderful or it can be evil. Sorry to go on and on... Loved your peice!!!!!!!!! |
