Please Make My Pain Stop

Contributed by pixie on Tuesday, 9th November 2004 @ 09:50:04 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Please can you help my pain to stop?
As from out of the sky Im about to drop,
Free fall all the way back down to the ground,
Please help me tell me youll always be around.

Although I am happy in love I am still depressed,
Still my soul in black is dressed,
Why wont my pain & heartache just leave?
Over & over again me it deceives.

Just when I think it has finally left,
In it runs looking all wind swept
Draining me making me feel like Im dying,
It hurts me then leaves me alone crying.

I am sick of feeling like I am alone,
Dont feel wanted by you when were on our own,
I feel like you punish me for my past,
Like I have some hole inside me thats vast.

I just want to be allowed to enjoy our relationship,
Never on reality or you I want to lose my grip,
It hurts does my pain, hurts me so much,
With our happiness I dont want to lose touch.

Why has pain picked me to haunt,
In my face its power does it flaunt,
Have I been that bad a person to deserve this?
I am still suffering from depressions kiss.

Depression can be a never ending struggle. I know. Are you getting some professional help? I know that I have learned to have some measure of control over mine, and the ups and downs have smoothed some. It's a long process, and you have to really want it, but I believe depression can be overcome.

Pixie, I don't think we ever entirely get away from depression. A word, a comment, a negative poke in the back can bring it all back sometimes. The most I've been able to do is let it out, then go and feed yourself with something that makes you feel more positive: A great comedy, a beautiful sunset, a hug. Find what makes you feel absolutely great no matter what and keep it a regular part of your life.
That downward spiral skews everything sometimes, I know. Unfortunately, in the end we gotta learn to feed ourselves the positive vibes because neediness tends to drive people away. You're alone in the sense that you hold the controls, but not alone in that other people are going through the exact same thing.
Hugs!
