But I am the critic of those closest to me
I long for accomplishments that I never got to see
I'm fulfilled just knowing of your dreams

Now I'm gone and I have no room to grow
Left behind, with no more opportunities to blow
I've search for reasons, but they're things I'll never know
Left out in the cold, but I've long since seen snow
You've defeated me in the game of life

You've concreted me with all your strife
But you deleted me with the backstabbing of your knife
The oceans are shallow, the rivers are empty
My eyes are gone; can't read a letter you've sent me
I'm just another quarter in your pocket, and you've spent me
It's been four years since a dream's been with me
You've defeated me in the game of life
But you cheated me when I asked for a wife
