There are two types of pain
Mental and physical
Both hurt and drive you insane
And can even make you suicidal
Mental pain is deep
Penetrating beyond the surface
Getting rid of all the happiness you wanted to keep
Destruction is it's sole purpose
Physical pain can last for a while
Blood can clot and scars can heal
Keeping you in a constant denile
Until you realize it's only what you feel
Bandage your bruise
Stop cutting your wrists
Be yourself, be more careful
And take life as a gift

Welcome to YPDC, angelofdeath!
Wow - you're off to a great start. This is a terrific piece... wise and moving and honest. I really like this. The third stanza in particular.... it just hit me as being very real.
Nice work. Keep writing and keep posting!
