How can you say the things you do then do the thing you did?
Did you lie to me? Did I fall for it again?
I let your charm change me, I let the fact you liked me change me.
You were cool and interested in me, I just couldn't be myself round you.
I just wanted to be your everything. I let myself believe this time it was going to be alright but then it happened.
Fateful wait, one day two.
Three day four... eight years? Seventeen decades of a Steveless world,
A tearful tragedy. A world gone mad for you, my world gone mad.
You made me promise you things, I promised, I promised and I gave you my word... Id be there, Id give you everything, Id change for you.
Cut my hair, lose weight, change what I wore, how I acted, where I went, what I watched and listened to.
Maybe if you knew how much I needed you, youd never have left, how happy I could have been - the new and improved Demelza, untrue Demelza, Demelza the lie.
Fabricated in my love for the fact you loved me. The fact you said you loved me. The fact those words appeared on my computer screen.
You could be anyone, you could have been my everyone, my everything.
Now you are nothing, nothing but a tear on the edge of my eye, falling away from me - far far away.
