You have told me that you love me,
Ive agreed that its all fine:
Ill accept your offered love
as long as you do realize
that love can be so very different
from anothers point of view,
and from mine I do not see
that look of loving in your eyes.
Aside from this Ive made a promise
to myself which Im to keep,
and this to do tis my intent
to stand my ground and make a start
by deciding to take notice
not of you as you so want,
but to listen and take heed now
of the message from my heart.
Believe or not, the message clearly
states the path I am to follow
does not have a room for you;
matters not whats said or done
or what your wants and thoughts
depict or conjure up for future days,
in this life I fully know it:
that for me youre not the one.

| Intrigued by the fact that there was only one comment, I had to look. It's very clearly stated and the meter's great. Maybe it's too painful a reminder for some. Anyhow, it's a good poem. Blessings, J. |
