Why are all the beautiful people crazy and subsequently die young?

What is is about those trailblazers
That makes them a target for the Grim Reaper?
Sure they push hard against the seams
Of a pseudo-structured society
But isn't that what makes them so intense?
They ravage our thought processes
With atomic messages
Disintegrating the foundations
We thought were so sound
But isn't that why we stare in awe?
They somehow live beyond our laws
On the edge of our social parameters
Or maybe it just looks that way
From our finite perspectives.
Is their genius so repugnant to the world
That if one of the plebian
Doesn't play assasin
Then necrosis takes over to ensure
The dastardly deed is done?
And if they are such an abomination
Why do we feel so empty when they're gone?

there are so many brilliant artists who have been taken from us, hopefully they are in a much better place, od.b you mean old dirty bastard? I didnt know he died too :(
