The Angel Athena

Contributed by Crimson_Rose on Sunday, 14th November 2004 @ 01:07:49 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

A lovely fair face she has, like a pool of white silk
Athena, she had innocent, yet sad eyes of the purest blue
Those eyes, they sparkle like two sapphires
Silvery blonde hair cascades down her back like a rushing waterfall
Lips of the subtlest crimson red shine like silky blood

Her pure white wings as white a polished ivory,
Flow in the undying wind
She plays a song of woe, flooding the ears of the innocent
Her golden harp lies shimmering in her lap
Glistening hands flow along silver strings

Athenas voice weaves it lovely whisper through the air
The angels voice kisss the lamentable tears of the lonely
A capture of warmth & happiness streams from her lips
Her eyes shine upon worthy humans like two sparkling stars
The light of the binding moon glitters along her delicate skin

She haunts the dreams of the sinless
Athena, so stunning in her angelic charm
The angel Athena has stolen my heart again.

I really liked this poem. What really gets me is the fact that the descriptions were so clear and vivid. I admire things that I can't accomplish, and one of those things is being as descriptive as this. This was such an honest piece of work and I really love it. Keep it up
