Distant Screams Crying Out For Help

Contributed by jishes_4_ever on Sunday, 14th November 2004 @ 02:35:22 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I hear distant screams all around me
Of people who were once there
Of people who are there now
Of everyone
They cry out to me
Asking for my help
But I can't find them
They're all lost to me
All somewhere out of my reach
I try to help them
But with each step I take
There screams seem to get farther away
I'm reaching out
Hoping to find someone there
But the darkness is all around
And the distant screams still cry out
I wish I could find them
To help them get out of wherever they are
They seem to be in so much pain
Suddenly I feel a breath on my neck
I turn around to see no one there
The screams have all stopped
Then my screams begin
I'm yelling for help
Realizing it was me all along
Hearing my own distant screams
Crying out for help
