Grief

Last night, as you slept, I heard the little boy crying again. The one that hides, curled up, Inside in the man youve become. In his shivers I feel his bruises and welts; In his tears I taste the fear of Forceful hands, and the knowledge Of who came through the door to That small, dark room. Years later, he wont let you rest unless You lie facing the door, the duvet Over your ears, blocking out it all. You look over your shoulder wherever You walk, hoping they wont catch up, Hoping they dont smell your fear. What disturbs me most is how deeply Ive come to care for you both: The boy who cries in the night, And the man who pretends he cant Hear him.

Yes, sad, deep, and fascinating.
All the events that go into making us who we are...and always the child inside...still needing, wanting, growing.

| a beautiful of love for your husband. You look into him and see the little boy who had troubles and you see the man beside you still struggling.... thanks for sharing.. you know we can't take the past away until we open the door and see what was there and face it and come against it. then close the door forever and walk into the future holding God's hand. |
