I am a tree
planted in an overly crowded forest
Hundreds of trees towering over me
drawfing me in size
watching everything I do.
And on this thick sophocating soil,
I'm not allowed to grow
I'm not allowed to bask in the warm sun
I'm not allowed to reach up over the tree tops
to see the blue skies.
And I'm not allowed to let
my leaves blow and float on
the gentle breezes...
So every night I wish someone
would cut me down...
Oh how I wish I were a tree that stands alone!!!
