i hold onto distant memories
as i start to drift away
im sorry but the girl i used to be
cant come out to play
shes long gone from this evil place
come to think of it she might be dead
and as her memory starts to fade
be careful where you tread
for the girl that she has now become
isnt what you expected her to be
shes longing for something more than life
shes longing to be free
as all my thoughts begin to wander
and my sanity starts to stray
im sorry but the girl i used to be
cant come out to play

| Did you actually share this poem with your friend? If so she might have understood better and you guys would have left off on a better note. Good write, I think everyone knows how it feels when you loose a friend over some personal changes. |
