BEHIND THE MASK

Contributed by lemmen on Sunday, 21st November 2004 @ 09:05:51 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Faces can you see
What lurks behind them

The mask of indifference
The masks are always the same

Always smiling
Always happy
Always has a kind word to say

Can you see
What really lurks behind
The mask

The eyes give away the soul
OR DO THEY

In this world of perfect lies
Who can really tell where happiness lies
Who can see behind ones mask
Execpt for the one who wears it

You say you can see my soul
My eyes are glass
Your looking into your own soul

Is it dark
Is it full of pain
Care to share
Isn't that what you would have ask me

Behind my mask do you really
Want to see
Or is your mask just being
Kind like always

Looking to see someone else pain
So you might feel better in some way

Faces can you see
What lurks behind them

The mask always smiling
Always the same.
