Sometimes it rains on those Who walk a narrow path You've seen the ones who try To shrug it off and laugh
But when it comes, know this You'll always get a little wet The winds don't make it easy To take a forward step
Sometimes it pours on souls Who need a little soak Vile, wretched creatures Living without hope
The ones who never notice Who never thought to try The ones who don't believe That they were born to die
Sometimes the waters fall On those who've given all they've got The ones who've made the best Of their paltry little lot
Job had lost it all And Lot had lost his wife Just and righteous followers Struck by horrid strife
It doesn't seem to matter What they've done or tried They can only wait and hope For the sun to shine outside
Sometimes those icy drops Fall from human eyes The people that you love Share with them and cry
The tempest always strikes Those that ran away from pain But never forgets the others Who did their best to stay
But sometimes it just rains Life and creed aside Battles the courageous Who dare to step outside
There are those who ask God, why must this be so What is it that I've done Why won't you make it go
The Lord won't let you crumble If you make your prayer known Rodins' caryatid is only beauty Under the weight of her stone
Tears like little raindrops Help to clear our sight And storms don't last forever Even under Jovian might
Though the rain seems cold And stings like tiny fists A pretty flower couldn't grow Without those springtime mists
So when it descends, head outside And lift your arms is praise Dance into the drizzly night There's warmth within the haze

There's a lot of depth here in spite of the title. I needed to read this today. I forget what Job suffered sometimes. Other times I look up and say "God, what is it I need to learn? Just tell me now and I promise I'll get it. I'd rather you just tell me than go through all this." But, He knows best, and He knows what I need to learn something once and for all and trust Him even more. Thanks for this write that obviously got me to thinking.
