Daddy

Contributed by Nessa_Lee on Tuesday, 23rd November 2004 @ 03:20:10 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

"Daddy" I cried.
"Where are you?"
But that was only a dream,
but I do want to know,
where did you go?
I've lived 10 years without
knowing who my REAL daddy is.
How could you treat my mommy
so bad?
Why weren't you there
for my first words
or my frist day of school?
These are the questions
that run through my head everyday.
Now just a day ago I graduated
from middle school, 8th grade.
And do you want to know
what I asked when I went
down that isle,
I asked myself,
Wheres my daddy?
See daddy,
You were never there when
I fell and hurt my knee
or for my first boyfriend.
Why did you leave me, daddy?
Did you not love me?
Now you probably have a wife
and a child of your own,
but Daddy,
Please,
Don't forget me
'cause I'm your
true daughter.

This brought a tear to my eye so much sadness from a daugther who cries out for a father. Maybe some day you will find the answer why. .

Wow, I'm not sure what to say. This has put me in tears. My father left when I was little also and like your father mine wasnt there for my first words or when i feel down. My dad didnt go to my middle school graduation. I know how you are feeling. Although I am in 10th grade, I still relate to this poem. Hang in here sweety, you did nothing wrong. Dont give up on seeing him or things like that, but just remember its not your loss. He left your mom and you.
Always
