I want to fly you far
we can go from the dust and clammy air
to a world where I can always see you smiling
because here you are so sad
its been beating you down
lately I can tell
you havent been sleeping
and why?
is it so bad you cant close your eyes
for fear of waking a cynic?
I want to fly you far
preserve your quiet smiles
I want you to grow and become what you want
but its my darkest fear
this city will swallow you
before long
you come to think its not that bad
but I know it is
because I know you arent sleeping anymore
because you know inside its really that bad
I want to fly you far
and I wonder if you will come
I know the concrete hold its victims
I know the siren call of the miles of strangers
who will never know your failures
is it enough to love you for who you are?
I can tell you cant sleep anymore
because of your shame
you hate that I know your faults
I love you for them, dont you see?
I want to fly you far
you need to get out of here
its gotten so out of hand
you walk these streets, head down
all you see is the gray and solid
it's eating your still heart
from inside your chest
and its hollowing you out
and I can tell you dont sleep
for all the pain its causing you
I want to fly you far
I watched you walk the street
I called your name seven times
before you turned around
you looked slightly confused
who did you think I was calling to?
and I know you wont sleep
because you feel it to
the need to take to the air and never look back
you want me to fly you far

*smiles* Ooh, I like this one . . . some very nice phrases here and your emotion's well-expressed. Maybe a little more lengthy than it needs to be, but that's arguable and it's perfectly good as is.
