Ashen halls I call my own
Soundly holding crested of stone
With open eyes I see life
Always lying under the knife
My halls become my asylum
Alone I wonder never knowing
Paths around me never showing
Gray skies I strain to see
Knowing I will never be free
And my halls become my asylum
Trapped within my endless hell
Walls around begin to swell
The walls close all around
Then I scram without a sound
And my halls become my asylum
I throw my hands on the wall
Scream and praying they will fall
My nails scratch at the stone
I scream and know I am alone
And my halls become my asylum
A pathetic wretch I have found
In my soul of stone now bound
Screaming in the endless halls
Till the darkened curtain falls
And my soul became my asylum

| I'd like to see this somehow illustrated into pictures...I really like the concept of the soul as a sort of asylum in itself, I understand what you're trying to say. You executed this piece very well, if I might say...well done. :) |
