Breaking Even: A Martyr's Love Song

Contributed by andthefoolshallburn on Friday, 26th November 2004 @ 06:46:10 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

As a single solitary tear drops slowly, falling from my cheek, you will only look at me as I grow weak. I'm trapped inside this darkness, this serpent to slowly revolve around everything I used to believe.

Your words ring hollow in the shell of their meaning and you are slowly growing closer.

The precious bond I strained you broke and trampled under your feet as you walked slowly towards the door of infinity and with impunity you will punish me again.

Sliding into what should not be, as I am pushed too close to that sacred edge.

One glare leads to a glance so full of a love I'm believing to be lost forever. But this serpent that holds me is beginning to look like your reflection and I become more in touch with the part of me that is no more intact than a shattered mirror.

As a single solitary tear drops slowly from my cheek you will smile that grin and show why I am weak. This pressure in my lungs won't go away as long as you remain, and the only thing left in me slowly breaks, and I am breaking alone...

...so far below even.

this is so beautiful...
and so very sad too...

*sigh*

"You smile that grin and show why I am weak"
mmm... so many weaknesses come from pure beauty...

excellent.
