Once Upon A time ...

Once Upon A Time ...

Once upon a time
In a land full of love
Lived a couple
That was from up above

They loved each other so much
And more and more each day
But soon the guy got a new job
And had to go away

The girl stayed home to be with her family
For she knew he would see her again
He promised he would come back home
And love her until the end

Two years have passed
And the man was finally coming home
She was very excited because she had prayed for this for long
When they looked in each others eyes they wanted to be alone

To love one another
And never let go
They knew this was their night
So they tried to make everything slow

The love was great
And they were happy
Until he went back away
Strong she had to be

They talked on the phone every night
To see what was new in their lives
He promised her a diamond ring
And will ask to be his wife

With this knowledge she was very happy
And waited for the day
When he would come home to her
And the words he would say

He came home again
Yet did not tell her
For he was busy with friends
He disappeared for a while then crept up like a whisper

When she asked to see why he didn't come to see her
Baby I need some space he said
Youre crowding my life I just want to have fun
She stood there crying and asked about the promise to wed

She asked him why
She waited for him for so long
She loved him with all her heart
Where did she go wrong?

She told him she loved him
I don't know if I love you
Im leaving now, so you move on
She looked at him and couldn't believe this was true

What about our plans? she asked
He shrugged and got in his car
He started it up
He was going to go far

I know you think we are perfect
But that is not true
Once upon a time is not today
And wont be anytime soon

OMG.........Does he expect you to just sit back some more, and wait?! How awful......People can be together, and some can feel they need space.....but if he truly loved you, he will return. Sad........beautiful write tho.

You just made me cry, this is my favorite poem for the day. I really admire your strength for waiting for him for that long. Its hard to move on but you will find that one special guy for you someday. I need some tissue

Hugs you a lot,
Jane

OMG. Little cousin you told me my ex and I inspired you to write this one. When I read it I cried for this is almost persisely how it happened. I miss him so much and I have this aching in my heart that seems will never die. How can you move on from someone who was your only love for the past four years? How can you move on after things were so perfect and there was talk of marriage? This is one of your best poems yet. I just hope you never have to go through what I went through. It is not fun being heart broken. I love you little cousin.

Emily
