The Get Away

Topic: PoemsonBeauty

So many times I feel the need to get away
Sick of all I get myself into every single day
And I just cant take it anymore.
I know that leaving will bring me nothing to gain
Just a temporary relief to all that pain
But all it takes is a walk out the door.
I always think about never coming back
Though close friends and family keep me on track
But I try so hard to be happy, it makes my face sore.

The times when it seems that I have no future,
And a migraine is induced by the sound of my cats purr
I know of one place that can soothe:
Harsh, cold sand grains between my craving toes,
A blazing sphere traveling deeper with the oceans flow
In front of this sunset, I have nothing to prove.
You see, the sun will not ridicule or judge,
No demanding pressure, nor the hold of any grudge
Just comfort to my anguish, Ive nothing to lose.

A million colors swirl about
Blending to shine brilliantly like a rainbow trout,
The intensity stimulating my mind.
I yearn to stay in this place forever,
Surrounded by serenity, it becomes my endeavor
To acquire something so hard to find.
It is not that my life is torture to live,
It is the existence of this place that I cannot forgive
This place that offers hope to mankind.

At last the ocean waters welcome the sun,
The final moments of daylight begin to come undone
And peace finally settles in.
Though I still know its only temporary,
Now all that is hurting doesnt seem as scary
And I cant help but grin.
In the next few moments, Ill begin my journey home
Ill run so as not to be attacked by the rigorous sea foam,
The desire to return always within.
