Without A Reason (Excessive Actions) - by J. Samuelson Copyright2002 01/18

Steel bands behind my back
Rusted iron bars before me
Mistreated, accused wrongly
It all happened so quickly.

It only took an instant
My cheek slammed into ice
It shattered on the trunk lid
He made me pay the price.

Abuse, Without A Reason
Who does he think he is?
Hes not above the law
No grounds to act like this.

So now I sit in my cell
One chance to use the phone
To call for some assistance
And pray shes still at home.

Cold and damp around me
In this small bed I lie
Locked up Without A Reason
Just watching time go by.

Now sitting in the courtroom
Theyre calling out my name
Its time to share my story
Ill tell it all the same.

The D.A. said he was wrong
Excessive force was used
He went beyond the limits
And left me swelled and bruised.

Now I must wait for trial
And prove it on the stand
All I need are the pictures
Its in the judges hand.

Back to my cell Im taken
All I can do is wait
Still held Without A Reason
Its all up to the state.

Im only seeking justice
An example must be made
Unfair how I was treated
The way I was betrayed.

The law got used against me
Now I will stand and fight
For actions Without A Reason
To turn this wrong to right.

My day is quickly coming
Now that Im home to stay
The trial will be over
Hell be the one to pay.

Its just too bad, his power
Took him out of control
I saw it in his eyes
The doubt, taking its toll.

Confined, Without A Reason
I know Ill be okay
No more Without A Reason
Justice will find its way.
