Only Fifteen

Only fifteen

Daily walks down the halls,
of this school so empty.
Lonely feelings emerge,
but how can you feel so lonely, with over 500 people surrounding?
Those feelings raise up to the surface,
no matter how hard you try to hide them,
theyll just never leave.

People walk past,
as they look and they laugh.
They point and whisper to one another,
what they say, now becomes a cover,
for all the wrongs among their lives.

You look towards them,
shadows of your life,
you run in the opposite direction
hoping they wont catch up.
You look back to see if theyre still there,
they arent.
Finally at last, alone,
but how can you be alone with all of those people?

Those people surrounding you,
picking out every detail about you,
making you seem like a monster.
You arent the monster,
they are.
Devouring you every hope, your every dream,
making you feel like theres nothing real, only fake.
But what are you to say,
youre only 15.

I rememeber the days of tormented youth, Im a loner, then and now, though others seem to think it a disease and made it their buisness to ram the point home...something gave.
Beautifully written, showing life in one of its many guises.
