Flood of Lies

Contributed by deathly_rose on Monday, 29th November 2004 @ 08:16:40 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Flood of lies

I walk down the stairs,
down to the basement,
where all of my lies are hid.
I walk down,
water at my feet.
Water so cold,
its taking over my body, my soul.
I slowly continue to walk through this flood of lies,
but how can this be? Its so deep, towards the people I despise.
Slowly going under,
I find my way down.
Down to the heavens of below.
I open my eyes, to see nothing but water,
water surrounding me, taking over my body.
I feel it coming, I hold my breath, awaiting my death,
though it never comes.
I get out of the water, for a gasp of air,
slowly I begin to swim, towards the stairs of my life.
Escalating, the pain is overbearing.
I walk up the stairs, all of the lies are behind me,
the shadows in front.
Faces disoriented,
figures a blur.
I dont understand just what to do,
this is my present
this is my past,
How long will this life be?
How long will it last?
