Milligan Park Pool

Grief
|
Taking the blade I just scratch the surface. Testing the water, taking it slowly. To the world I am just a sad girl.
Your wish is my command, Zachary. Wasn't that how it always was? Didn't you always want me to die? Wouldn't it be easier than breaking my spirit?
Well, here it goes, I'm diving in headfirst.
I remember Milligan Park Pool. All the red signs with the man crushing his scull. "No Diving" I jumped right in for you. Headfirst.
My fist is in your face now. You are the bleeding one. You look at me in horror.
And then...
You beat me to the ground in your anger. And then you don't stop. You don't notice when the spirit slips from my body. Broken and Bruised.
Baby.

Great emotions in this poem. It's dark and dangerous and I love the way it ends. Good write. |
