Never again shall I arise
for this is where my body lies
Throughout my life I pushed and fought
To find the peace I always sought
But it was all to no avail
for I could never spot its trail
But finally I've found my rest
Here in my dark earth-covered nest
At last I've left the world of men
And I shall never return again
lying in the ground so deep
I relish my eternal sleep
So do not mourn and so not cry
I'm glad to have had the chance to die

| I'm sorry and happy for the narrator all at once, which is something I've never really had a poem make me feel before... You should consider writing in Iambic Pentameter or Sonnet form, I reckon. |
