He apologized to me, and I forgave If only hed stop being, as ignorant as he is Then hed know, what I know But, how can he? I guard what I know, and feed it each day Each day it grows, strong and old If only he knew But, he never will And each day it I tightly hold Half buried in the past Like an ember bathed, in soot and ashes Quite obvious, to the sharp-eyed But, not to the poor boy, who knows not
