A Simple Joy

Contributed by evilcherry312 on Wednesday, 1st December 2004 @ 11:47:25 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Never knowing another person could make me feel like this--
makes it all the better.
To feel wanted and appreciated by someone who I want
and appreciate makes my heart skip a beat.
I'm so glad you're here,
It all seems so clear.
The touch of your hand, it's slight squeeze
of affection;
The gentleness of your fingertips as they
caress my skin--
All things buried deep within my heart.
Desires which you brought to life that
are etched into my memory.
Never will I forget--
For how can I forget the wishes
you granted when just simply
your smile is emblazoned in my mind?
I thought your feelings might be waning
since we're so far away,
But today you've proved to me that, no,
my fears are unsolicited
Because
my hopes, dreams, desires, are validated.
They were yours, too.
You've lifted me up to heights once
thought impossible by another,
And it delights me to know that they aren't.
Happy and carefree
--I wish you could stay--
That's how you make me
--Please don't go away--
Tomorrow's another day, we'll see what's in store.
For things to be merely as today is all that I implore.
