I Want To Be Me

Contributed by CrimsonTears on Thursday, 2nd December 2004 @ 07:59:34 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

Just let me be free
I just want to be me
Youve held me back for way to long
You still think Im a child but you are wrong

I want to express the way that I feel
Im tired of my shell not being real
Youre the only one thats in my way
And Im tired of listening to what you have to say

Please just let me be who I am
I dont want to one big sham
I dont want to fit in with the crowd
I want to stand out and make it loud

But for some reason you simply refuse
And the same excuse you always use
A simple because I said so its what I get
But there is just something that you forget

This is my life it isnt yours
Its time you open up the doors
Just let me go my own way
I want to be me every single day

This was good. I also struggle to find myself sometimes.
Often I 'think' ive found myself, but i nearly always lose myself a short while later.
Life is a B****, you just have to get on with it.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
