This Girl

Contributed by vallie_val on Saturday, 4th December 2004 @ 09:21:20 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

The stars are shining in the sky,
The rain is tapping on the roof
She can't fall asleep
Crying in the darkness
There's no one around
Only shadows on the walls
They're her only friends
Cos they're the ones who listen
But when the shadows dissappear
She will look around
To realize she's still inside
The world she hates with passion
No one ever understands
What she tries to say
No one ever really cares
What her choking heart is feeling
She's sick of telling she's alright
She always smiles but cries inside
She always tries to hide it
When deep inside she's bleeding
She can't seem to find her way
She makes the same mistakes again
But she has the urge to find
Something to believe in
She needs to get away from here
She wants to live inside her dreams
Cos that's the only place
Where she is happy

Welcome to YPDC.

I like the way you say that the shadows are this girl's only friends - even though its a sad state of affairs, it lends to the idea of the daylight world holding little allure in its misunderstanding.

Being misunderstood sucks . . .

Keep writing.
