Love Is Pain

Contributed by hoist1atca on Saturday, 4th December 2004 @ 10:53:12 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

What place is this, I have reserved for you?
Deep within a heart,
A fool’s palace, not so solid.
Once my own, now yours to control…

Built not of mortar strong-
This foundation stands so weak.
For loves embrace, only a mere deception-
Now hides within the illusions of hope…

Moments shared in times now past,
Are only tears shed in the darkness of night-
For memories weigh heavy upon a heart,
Given freely only to be cast aside and left to die…

Desire has clouded a mind once clear,
And cast aside all thoughts with reason-
What now remains is all to true,
In the end, love is only pain…

This is a poem I can really relate to...but for me I gave up on love..a long time ago.
Awesome poem, well written well chosen words, each descibing the way you feel clearly, beautifully woven and excellenly composed...keep the words flowing.

Amen to that ..love is pain and the ultimate time-waster... let us let it lie buried and enjoy the other things in life. Like wine, women and song.
