A lil boy down the street says you killed his daddy in his sleep, is it true dad, did you do that deed?
I told him he was wrong you would neva do no harm. He sed it was ova a colour, I asked is that really sumthin to fight ova. He sed no to you or me but obvisously that is how our family thinks, see yours has a different colour to mine and so we have to stay on our own line. If they knew i was talkin to you I would get mine.
So come at night and we talk, but if they knew...we would have a fight. The lil boy sed don thate your dad coz I dont, he did what he felt was respectin his own. Yeah i miss my daddy but all this fightin ova a colour I don tmiss that no more. So if nuthin else, please learn a lesson, a colour is no reason to be stressin, its no reason to kil or be killed no reason to walk the streets. All it is...is sumthin outa outa a crayon box. So go home and colour a picture with every crayon you got then put daddys number on top. They should let him have it. Make sure no stickers just a stamp maybe then he will see, that colour isnt how it has to be.

Excellent in every regard. I like the fact that you aren't restricted by a form or scheme. This indeed IS a poem, and the message is powerful. |
