Autumn wood sonnets playing,
with the radio off...
on the other side of silence,
a lark's first call.
Tunes float in the tall grass,
reach to the sunset,
then come back again
to fingers tapping on glass.
Someplace faraway, right here,
horizons meet, and
old worlds laugh in the shadows
of blossoming trees.
Goodbyes don't belong here-
in the shade of
lost skies that never forgot the
road to dreams.
Sweet memories, soft lights,
merge together
into tears that only real joy
can bring...
Once upon a time...summer
stayed behind-
trapped in the way the wind felt
on sun burnt smiles.
Once upon a time...summer
stayed behind-
in beginnings without ends, in
ends without beginnings.

Magical and beautiful with that haunting, bittersweet beauty that makes up so much of our walk in this world. Your poems always grasp my full attention as I listen to each image flowing past.
