Why couldn't I see
What was right
In front of me?
All the happiness
That could have
Been acheived
By glancing in the corner
To the shadow
That never spoke.
Hiding from what
Was inevitable.
I thought I would
Be happy.
I was so blind.
All I'd ever desired
Was watching over me.
A powerful force,
Nothing I can explain
Opened my eyes.
And I saw
What I knew
Could always be mine.
The shadow developed
Right before my eyes.
Into a person
I've known all along
To be good and true.
A person, who would
make my skies always blue.
A person I know
Just by looking
In his eyes.
A person I know
Who is truly right.
The shadow speaks
And rocks me to my soul.
He is the one
Who can make me whole.
I have come to realize
What I've missed all along,
Was right before my eyes.
