In that Solitude

Topic: DarkPoetry

In that solitude
there is only You.
Why?
Because, I can not allow you
to take me back there,
there to that place of
constant winter.
That place where the plants and trees
are covered in sheets
of frozen blood.
That place
where the Sun does not exist
and the Moon is the ruler
of Night Terrors
not of Dreams and
the Fantastic.
Birds do not sing
sweet songs
only horrific screams,
a Holocaust of noise.
I have watched you
through the window of my mind.
I have watched you die
on a daily basis
always taking your own life,
never for the sake of others,
but rather,
because you see no way out
and in order to survive
you feel the need to drag others in.
You are no Phoenix,
the flame of your passion
burnt out long ago
and there are no ashes to
sustain another life for you.
The weight of snow holds you down
and the layers
upon layers
you say you need to keep you warm
are nothing more than
bricks and cement
to keep you well contained
in your self-created Hell.
No,
I will not allow this anymore.
Your blood is yours,
I will not bleed for you.
My breath is mine,
You can not breathe for me.
