Passages of Light

Contributed by DarkInTheWater on Tuesday, 7th December 2004 @ 11:18:04 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Wherever I find you
Wherever lust leads you
Wherever I find love
Beneath the river and the sun

And in the open air, down by the riverbed
Where only notions go; we sit and wonder.
She moves in silent fashion, and curls up
Leans in on me, and prepares to speak
She whispers thoughts to me that I have to hear
One of two, becomes apparent, unsure of which to choose
Either confirming hopes
Or hinting at my fears
It doesn't matter either way she's sinking again.

Wherever light finds you
Where heavens must lead you
Wherever life finds love
Under the ever-dying
River and sun.

Heaven is somehow less appealing
On a realisation, I can now see this;
Only the mortals can breach the holy gates;
Nothing without a soul can break into the final bliss.
Down by the river, under the waterfall
Silent stones fall; it's the foundations of the heavens.
I sit still with her weight against me
Everything's falling, I slowly smile.

Wherever
It will take you forever
Light doesn't fall so hard
In the water.
