The Sky Is Like Me Tonight

Contributed by Doriens_Picture on Thursday, 9th December 2004 @ 01:26:48 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

The sky is like me tonight

It feels like it wants to rain

But it cant really get the drops to fall

So it stays grey for as long as it can hold them in

There are so many clouds out tonight but it just wont rain

Only small drops are left to fall leaving their dew on leaves

From a sadness that wants to escape the eyes

I my self no how it feels to want to cry but still not wanting to

No matter how good it would do me if I did

I just feel like as if they would be a waste

The grass is dry and the flowers are thirsty but still it wont rain

I dont blame the sky for not wanting to

But still I do not want the flowers to wilt or the grass to turn brown and die

Leaving behind only a patch of dirt to turn to mud under the rain

Sometimes it rains and the streets flood I feel like that a lot these days

But like the sky I dont want to cry today

I really do not feel like I have a reason to but I feel as if I still should

I know that letting out what I have inside would do me good

But still I dont want to cry if I did my tears would burn this paper

Do not ask me how or why but that is just what it would do

The sky is so gray and as depressed as I am today

And today we are the same

We tire and go insane trying to fight the tears that come

But soon the sun will be out and the night time sky will be free

Free from all the clouds and ugliness but what about me

aww that was so sad and moving, instead of fighting the tears, let them flow it does us good to cry sometimes, a great release of tension,

pixie xx
