Im being drowned by a memory, a tear
The tears I dont cry, the sobs youll never hear
The ones I choke back so that you cant see
So that nobody can -- I dont want you to know the real me
But they build up inside me and tear me apart
I look at you, though, I love you staight from my heart
So I dont want you to know the secrets I keep
The images that haunt my mind at night when I sleep
I want you to love me for the girl Ive become
Ive changed so much from the one that I was
Im not perfect, but I try harder everyday
Ill never let you pity me, itll never be okay
If you only knew what Ive done, who I used to be
Maybe you wouldnt even be able to look at me
So, Ill die a little bit more everyday
And my secrets will die with me, Ill never say
One day youll lose me and youll never know why
I hated myself or why I wanted to die
