Morbid Love

Contributed by pixie on Sunday, 19th December 2004 @ 06:52:58 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I love to look at the bodies of the dead,
I have their visions flashing through my head,
I go at night to where they will be,
Alone & hidden behind a mask that is me.

The graveyard is ripe full of death,
I can smell it as I catch hold of my breath,
A smile creeps onto my lips,
As from this morbid air I take small sips.

I can feel it finding home under my skin,
Blackness holds me & pulls me far within,
This love I hold for the dead is unlike any other,
I dont need or wish to take a living lover.

What I crave is something dark & erotic,
This love is so intoxicating & only for the psychotic,
Morbid is a name well known to my kind,
Across the devils chest I signed.

Signed my name in big letters of blood,
I couldnt help it death felt so damn good,
Being near to the dead fills me with such calm,
As a dead lover cant hurt you or do any harm.

This poem made me think of a song I am currently obsessed with called 'Play Dead' by Bjork, I love it. Part of it 'I play dead, it stops the hurting, I play dead and the hurting stops'

Awesome poem Kriss, loved the flow and morbid darkness, nice and graphic just the way I love darkness, beautifully written.

How come truth is the best inspiration?
True, sad and beautiful.

Ooo yes Pixie. I feel so at ease in graveyards and always have. It was like the dead were my friends. Your poem resonated with the feelings I've had.

And yet. The dead *can* hurt you with the seeds of notions they leave behind. My own restlessness is one of those such seeds. Before I'd met him, I could have been completely happy with my life now. He is gone, but the dissatisfaction continues. Still I am asking myself if my life was planned this way, or is it the result of evil forces.

Of course, all this was from deeds *before* the death. Afterwards, they can't do any harm - unless we have no control over dreams...

Cheers!
