It seems really long, but it's spoken word, and the sentences are very short.
Beautiful little girl With your cute brown hair Always so short (If you were my daughter Id not let you cut it) And those big, gorgeous eyes Surely you cant remember But I do At Auntie Marilyns funeral You were so playful So active Pure energy Always keeping Aunt Jan On her toes But you stopped Long enough to show interest In my toes (My bronze toe-ring) It seemed as though youd seen Nothing Ever So amazing Tiny fingers Dirty and curious Pointing And enquiring eyes Gazing at mine So full of wonder So deep As though one could fall Headlong inside And find themselves Swimming In the depths Of all the worlds oceans And all of the nights sky Do you remember? No, of course not But promise me Youll try and remember me As your sixteen-year-old cousin Who watched over you As you rolled a ball Over and over again Towards Lonesome Sam Watching that he didnt Scratch your delicate hands... And as your sixteen-year-old cousin Who laughed with you As we played catch With the little rubber balls You were so nervous When we lost one (The yellow one) That we would get in trouble I had to reassure you (You really should just have Trusted me.) And remember me As your sixteen-year-old cousin Who smiled with you As we tried to set up Those little plastic bowling pins And you kept saying Im four. So young So jovial So sweet I cant wait to see you In another ten years Youll be so beautiful Such a heartbreaker But do be careful Boys have feelings too (Remember that.) I hope, as you grow You never lose Your fierce loyalty And your inquisitive curiosity (Go redundancy!) Surely you dont grasp Just what it is Im trying to say But Maybe one day Your wedding day maybe (Surely its not as far off As one would imagine) Youll understand Just what it is Im saying You, my dear Are the sweetest girl Ive ever known In all my short life And I can hope I can pray That maybe Just maybe One day I can have My own little girl Just like you Big sister And so proud Little sister And so meddlesome Middle child And so nave I really wish That I could live nearer to you So I could see you More than once every year Or every two years So I could watch you grow And evolve And mature Into a bright young girl I want you to know Even though I dont see you As often as Id like Ill always be here for you (How clich do I sound?) And I would do Whatever It takes To ensure that you are happy And you succeed In whatever it is you choose To do in life I hope (Really, I mean it) That you can find Someone Who is as Simply amazing As you are Who can change your life So dramatically In the way youve done To mine.

Awww, that's such a sweet poem.
I am shocked that no one else has said anything!
This made me smile. I have a neice that I am reminded of by this.
Bless.
Thankyou very very much for sharing.
