She's Alone On Christmas (A Sad Christmas Story)

Contributed by kidpoet_213 on Tuesday, 21st December 2004 @ 08:48:48 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Christmas time is supposed to be emotional
Bring both thoughts and parties devotional
It's supposed to be about happiness and joy...
About the good things to be... without an alloy
Not about sadness...
Not about the drunken nights...
Definitely... not about all the fights

Christmas is not about a girl... who's spending it alone
In a house that doesn't feel like a home
With all the beatings still fresh in her mind
And a bottle of booze... not so hard to find

Alone... she sits up the Christmas tree
Thinking only of her wish... to be free
Free of all this hell... that has become her life
This is what she become through the years of using a knife
Bloodstains and tears
Upon this dirty hankerchief of fears

With her mother down at the local bar
And her father not so very far
She's alone on Christmas this year
No family around... to comfort or care
Her only company... her tears

She's alone on Christmas this year
Like she feels every other day of the year
Alone... inside herself
Alone... with no one else
She's alone on Christmas... again... this year
