Finders Keepers

Contributed by spike on Wednesday, 22nd December 2004 @ 06:00:25 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

I found
The swiftness of time and I raced it
I found
love in my heart and embraced it
I found
strength in my body and flexed it
I found
misery in my bones and I hexed it
I found
the beast within and I tamed it
I found
the enemy without and I shamed it
I found
anger in my voice and I said it
I found
the wisdom of the ages and read it
I found
the secret of happiness and sang it
I found
The bell to sound change and I RANG IT!!
I found
the right path for me and I walked it
I found
The elixir of life and I corked it
I found
The centre of my pain and I smote it
I found
beauty in words, so I wrote it.

You sure did. Again and again!
Great job spike. I like this style of poetry. Kinda straight
to the point poetry. And a point well taken!
You never disappoint.

Oh! how I envy your clarity! This is terrific. And those capital letters - my! how potent they are. I think I heard the bell from here...

I suspect the straightforwardness of this is reflective of the moment in which you wrote it. It must have been one very big moment!

Again --- well, well done!
