Why Did You Leave?

Grief

The couch still smells of you From when you would sleep there When you needed a place to stay
The refrigerator still has your junk in it It’s moldy now And stinks really bad
Your jacket is still in my closet Exactly where you left it Gathering dust
I couldn’t bare to change a thing Every imperfection I thought I hated Is everything I miss
The way my rug would have mud tracks How you always left the seat up The way you would always be late
Or the way you called At three in the morning Just to say hi
Why did you have to leave me behind Why did I not follow you Why have you left me here while you go to a better place

I always found it funny, that when the one you love isnt there anymore you still miss their imperfection.
this poem really touched me
