Nomads

Topic: ambiguous

I wonder what you see
When you look at me
I bet you dont see a teenager
Or a pre-mature man
I came home tonight and stared at myself hard in the mirror
Again I dont see those things on the outside
The light under the door
to my room floats away from my back
I touch down on the keyboard and pretend to write poetry.

I dont write poetry
I feel

Again, you dont see a young man
You know,
Your skin is like a shadow to me
I can always come back to it and hide
From the heat
And yet it is where I gather.
I like the shadow
It keeps me warm
It tells me who I am.

I am not a bad person
I just want to be alone; I like to be alone.

I like to watch things too.
Ill sit under my shadow and watch the world like
a television set
Some things just tire me out.
Im feeling what it feels like to live
This is what you pay for admission
Only lifeless nights and days without fresh air
Grant you the night under the stars
With the one you want to be there with.
But do I want to be there with them
Where do I want to be with them
This is like those get rich quick scams you just gotta throw away
Gimme a second
Let me get one more glimpse
There is so much here that you cant see
And Im gone

Wheres that paved road everybody walks on with a sack over their shoulder

Thats where Ill be if you need me

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
