Fatal Mistake

I had made a mistake,
that fatal mistake,
of allowing people in,
into my head,
at least for awhile.
For theres much they dont know
yet already they know too much.
Its too late to shut the door,
the door to my soul,
yet Ill give it my all
to exclude them from me.
And go back to the days
when I was who I relied on,
the days when I had dismissed
everyone else from my life.
The days with few pains,
yet few joys.
So Ill replace my veil
of my frigid mist,
and once again shroud myself
within mystery.
Isolating my heart
from anyones grasp ,
distancing myself
from all I hold close.
Then pain will vanish
from both myself and from you.
Now you can give up caring
and it will effect me not,
Ill return to my life
as the girl youve forgot.
