Topic: Nostalgic

I remember the days when we were free
When nothing else mattered but you and me
We lived, we loved, and life was our playground
The words you said, your voice, the sweetest sound
King and queen of our own secret castle
I belonged to you but was not your vassal

I remember the nights when we were one
Content knowing we'd only just begun
All I wanted was to sleep in your arms
Needed nothing else to escape all death's charms
Saw no reason for things to ever end
But when you left, my mind, it started to bend

I remember just how the air did taste
How the wind whispered in my ear
I can't forget how my trust went to waste
All those nights of eternal tears
The moon, it always shone so bright
Who was I without you?
Lost my heart at the very sight
Swore I'd never lose you

I remember when life seemed but a dream
Before my mind began its silent screams
When I didn't know how lucky I was
To have someone I missed so bad, because
All I could see was all I didn't have
More than alone, felt like I was just a half

I remember when you still made me smile
Without having to run a thousand miles
You were where I thought home would always be
Not here among all this desolate debris
'Cause we were supposed to be forever
But when I'm with you I don't feel together

I remember just how the blood did run
And how it felt to fall apart
I can't forget how you buried the sun
Endless darkness breaking my heart
Then found myself empty inside
Without reason to live
But none, either, to take my life
So all of it I now give

I found my own nothingness once. It is the only place to begin over. Memories like that are always just keeping---as long as they are left to be only memories.

Dee, this was beautiful, different than your normal but brilliant.
I liked it though I do not fully follow it this time.
I know not what else to say.
